How to Boot Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in Recovery Mode

The Recovery Mode on your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge is a hidden menu that all Android devices come packed with and you can use it to do a handful of critical jobs on the device without booting into Android.

The Recovery Mode is particularly useful when your phone’s software has corrupted and is not booting normally, so you want to factory reset the device or when you have to manually install an OTA update zip.

How to Boot Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in Recovery Mode

If you want to do boot your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge in recovery mode, please follow these steps:

  1. Switch off your phone.
  2. Press and hold “Volume UP, Power and Home” buttons at the same time.
  3. Release the three buttons when the Recovery Mode options are loaded on your phone’s screen.
  4. When you see an exclamation mark on screen, now press and hold Power button and hit the Volume Up button for once.
    └ Note: This step won’t be necessary if you have a custom recovery like TWRP installed on your smartphone.
