How to Root Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge (Exynos)

As we know that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have a two chipset versions, the Exynos developed by Samsung and Snapdragon developed by Qualcomm.

After previously we’ve posted a tutorial on How to Root Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge for Snapdragon versions, here we will give you a tutorial how to root the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for Exynos versions. By rooting the phone, you will get full access to your device’s operating system to make changes to the file systems, and you can also install the applications easily. Please follow these steps below:

Important: Please remember this points before rooting

  • It is recommended to back-up all data before rooting the device.
  • You need a Windows computer.
  • Make sure your phone’s battery is full charged.
  • You must have the Samsung USB driver installed on your computer with USB Debugging enabled on the device to transfer files between the phone and computer [Download Samsung USB drivers here].
  • Make sure that secure boot in Settings > Lock Screen is disabled.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge (Exynos)

  1. Firstly, please tap on the phone’s build number in Settings > About five to seven times to enable Developer options. Then, enable the OEM Unlock option.
  2. Download CF Auto Root file for the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge.

  3. Unzip the CF Auto Root files and get the “.tar.md5” extension.
  4. Download Odin, then extract and install it on your computer (download here).
  5. Switch off your phone and turn it back on by holding down Volume Down, Home and Power at the same time until you get to Download mode.
  6. Run Odin as an Administrator, then connect the phone using the USB cable, while it’s in download mode, until Odin shows “Added message”.
  7. Click on AP and then select the .tar file for your phone you’ve downloaded.
  8. Click START and rooting process will happen automatically. While the process is running, your phone won’t show progress, just the S7 logo. It will reboot a couple of times, and then will boot into Android.
