Samsung admitted that the Galaxy S6 has serious memory problem

A great phone although, always has its own lack. And since Samsung get a barrage of complaints from users, Samsung admitted that the Galaxy S6 has a serious memory problem.

Samsung confirmed it via Samsung UK Facebook Page that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have memory mismanagement which leads them to slowness and forced closing-app. So, the main problem is RAM is consumed much and freed up.

The only currently solutions to this issue are:

  1. Press the ‘Close All’ in the multitasking card menu to discard all apps.
  2. Reboot the device. This action is expected to help keep the issue under the radar in reviews as performance testing which is always done from a boot.

While all fingers are pointing at Samsung, but the root of the problem is likely to be Google. The company admitted that there is a memory problem in Android 5.0 Lollipop, which the problem is fail to be fixed in 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.1 versions. The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are currently running on 5.0.2 version.

The last hope is on next Android 5.1.1 which lists “RAM management improved” on its official changelog.

But, on Samsung official Facebook page states that waiting for the Android 5.1.1 is not the only solution. Samsung said that the micro-updates are in the process to be rolled out to fix the issue. Users should keep checking for the updates on their device via Settings > About device > Software update > Update now.

Provided Android 5.1.1 on its two versions the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge seems not the micro-update like what Samsung stated. In fact, it could be a patch of Samsung in-house development.
