There are 5 differences between the S7/edge and S6/edge Nougat updates

  1. The S7/edge with Nougat is exclusive with the wide selfie with motion
This excellent feature is designed only for the S7 and S7 edge, but not to S6/ edge or those with Marshmallow. The device is then called “self-capture with motion”, it can take not only an Action Overview but also with front-facing camera. You can easily transform your group selfie into short clips or GIF’s for cuter shares if you don’t move as much while capturing the wide selfie.
  2. Always-on display
This feature is the big one, but is not featured in the S6 now, and not be in the upcoming time with Nougat. The Nougat update provides many new selections and visuals for AoD on the S7.
  3. Video trimmings
The feature of the Note 7 is now transferred to another S7 Nougat, it won’t be on the S6/edge with the updated Nougat.
  4. Camera modes omitted on the S6 with Nougat
The exclusive camera modes (such as Hyperlapse, Action Overview, Food, Selfie flash, changing the focus area) and some settings on Galaxy S7 won’t be existed on the S6 with Nougat. It seems that you will not get Fast Motion as well.
  5. Performance mode
Although it is listed that the new performance Mode in device maintenance is present in S6/edge, actually it is sadly unavailable. It makes you change the phone’s performance regime according to your usage.
