How to know the sensor inside Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge: a Sony or a Samsung camera?
It has been well known that Samsung often use different sensors in one and the same model of its flagship lines.
Seemingly, the Galaxy S6 may also have different sensors. We have collected information that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge may either use a Sony IMX240 camera sensor or Samsung’s own 16 MP creation.
Within the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge, this Korean giant only uses its own 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 for all models, with no Snapdragon anywhere to be seen. We have collected information from many users that their Galaxy S6/S6 edge uses either Sony or Samsung camera sensor strings. However, they do not know model or carrier pattern, or any production period, determining which sensor goes into what handset. It is seen that the sensor is put randomly.
If you are wondering about your sensors and want to know exactly what is inside your S6 or S6 edge, here we will let you know what to do:
- Firstly, please download and install AIDA64 from the Play Store in your phone.
- After installing it, please go to the Devices section.
- In this section, please check the Camera ID string there
- Please look at the display of your Samsung Galaxy. If the device string begins with SLSI, this means that a Samsung package is inside your Samsung galaxy S6/S6 Edge. In the other side, Sony’s ISP version is depicted with SONY_IMX240 for obvious reasons.
